Guangzhou, CHINA, 10 November 2010 – Guangzhou Guang Kong Industrial Gases (GKIG), a subsidiary of Linde-GISE, has been appointed official supplier of medical oxygen to the Asian Games’ network of designated hospitals and emergency services in Guangzhou city. Linde-GISE is a joint venture of world leading gases company, The Linde Group.
Linde-GISE produces and supplies medical oxygen products endorsed by Linde Healthcare, a business unit of The Linde Group dedicated to providing international healthcare solutions.
From the production to filling to delivery of medical oxygen products, Linde GISE has stringent standard operating procedures to ensure zero compromise in safety and quality. All medical oxygen products intended for use at the Asian Games hospitals and emergency services are required to undergo FDA’s laboratory safety and quality tests before delivery.
Linde GISE has also enhanced the security of its medical oxygen production, filling and storage areas. This includes the implementation of a “two-man rule” security measure to prevent single-person access to these areas. This means entry to any of these areas requires the use of two keys separately held by two persons.
“We have in place stringent quality and safety control mechanisms to ensure that the Games Village medical centre, and the city’s hospitals and emergency services are well-equipped with high grade medical supplies. Medical oxygen supply to these medical facilities have undergone thorough safety and quality tests by the FDA, with the intent to provide world-class medical services to our international visitors as they compete during the Games,” says a Guangzhou FDA spokesperson.

To ensure that there is no disruption of supply during the Games, Linde GISE has stepped up in production of medical oxygen products in reserve. In addition, we have assembled an Asian Games emergency response team, dedicated to responding to any emergency orders in the quickest possible time round the clock,” says Linde GISE general manager, Louis Ko.

Linde Healthcare has medical oxygen production sites across China including Guangdong, Shanghai and Fujian. Every site is accredited with the National FDA Good Manufacturing Practice certification.
More than 10,000 athletes from ASEAN countries will be competing at the two-week long sporting event from 14 November onwards.
