Murray Hill & New Providence, New Jersey, U.S., 20 April 2010 – Pharmaceutical manufacturers and biotech companies looking for a gases and technology partner to help them meet strict environmental standards while achieving quality and productivity improvements now have a BIO-partnered supplier that can design and deliver cost-effective solutions to address their most stringent operational needs.
Linde North America, a member of The Linde Group, a world-leading gases and engineering company, has decades of technical and engineering xperience in helping manufacturers improve product quality, efficiency and yield.
Visit the Linde booth # 3543, in the BIO Partner Pavilion, at the BIO International Convention at McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois, 3-6 May, to meet with Linde experts and its distributors to discuss how these capabilities can improve pharmaceutical, biotech and R&D operations. The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), founded in 1993, represents more than 1,200 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations across the U. S. and in more than 30 other nations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of innovative healthcare, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products.
BIO has partnered with Linde to offer member companies special pricing and rebates on bulk gas products, bulk gas applications, packaged and specialty gases, mini-bulk and related equipment, products and services. The gases covered include cylinder supply for industrial and special gas requirements, on-site generators for nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen, and liquid supply capabilities for argon, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and helium. With more than 50 production facilities and 220 active distributors, Linde offers exceptional service and cost-saving benefits to member companies.
Linde will be featuring the CUMULUS® Fluid Temperature Control technology that provides fast and accurate cooling of heat transfer fluids through an indirect application of liquid nitrogen, which regulates temperatures within +/- 1ºC.
“The CUMULUS technology’s precise low-temperature control results in improved reaction selectivity, easy repeatability, higher quality and yield,” said Leslie Waller, manager of the Linde/BIO partnership. “The system’s compact design footprint also allows easy retrofit installation and repositioning to other areas of the plant when the process changes,” Waller said.
For air treatment needs, the Linde CIRRUS® Vapor Emission Control system provides chemical and pharmaceutical customers with a flexible, compact and efficient option for reducing VOCs at reduced operating costs.
“Both the CUMULUS and CIRRUS technologies allow nitrogen gas effluent to be reused for purging or inerting throughout the plants,” Waller said.
The Linde Group is a world leading gases and engineering company with almost 48,000 employees working in more than 100 countries worldwide. In the 2009 financial year it achieved sales of EUR 11.2 billion (USD 15.3 billion).
